The reason I want to write you this card is to thank you for all you’ve done for me, during this journey in my life. But now that I’ve started to write about my gratitude, I realize that I can’t really think of words that are sufficient to convey my thankfulness. This time has been so scary for me, and your compassion and kindness toward me has been so reassuring and soothing. I can’t even tell you how much it’s meant to me. The patience and good humor you displayed in reading my letters prior to my surgery….Obviously, I have control issues! Even though I’m the patient, and you are the doctor, you always make me feel that I’m part of the team. I’m sure that in this career of yours you have come to grasp an understanding of what a woman’s breasts can mean to her; they are a somewhat sacred part of her body and self. I don’t think I even understood this until I was faced with having mine removed, due to cancer. The option of reconstruction has been one beacon of hope; the only lighthouse guiding me to a port, while I weather this storm. It’s been rough, but to carry the metaphor forward, my ship is strong, and I thank God for your light! I know I’ll be stronger at the end of all this. But what would I have done without you and your staff? I don’t know. Considering I’m having my hysterectomy next week it’s been one assault after another on my womanhood! Because of you, I know I can look forward to a future, where I’ll be having some sense of my female identity restored to me. And someday this crisis will be over, and I can help others who face the same kind of storms.
I just want you to know how pleased I am with the results of my surgery you performed in June. The results far exceed my expectations, even while I’m healing! Not only are you extremely professional, but you are caring and reassuring. I had given up hope that I would be “normal” again after the birth of my second child. You have given me a new lease on life and have restored my confidence. Your staff is wonderful and helped to add to my positive experience. Thank you again!
Words seem inadequate to express my gratitude (and amazement!) for what you have done for me. It’s been a long journey, and it takes even longer for esteem and body image to catch up with the physical changes. Thank you for being such a compassionate surgeon. I had a breast revision/lift 20 years after surgery and radiation. I found the staff helpful, attentive, professional and friendly. I became a patient of Dr. Lin’s when I was diagnosed with triple negative breast cancer and needed a mastectomy. At the time of my mastectomy, Dr. Lin put in a tissue expander. I came to his clinic weekly to get saline fills in the tissue expander. In early January, Dr Lin replaced the expander with an implant and reduced the size of my other breast. I can’t say enough about my treatment from Dr. Lin and his staff. Dr. Lin Is not only a great surgeon, who spent a lot of time with me planning my surgeries but he is very kind and reassuring . Callie, his PA and Brooke, an administrator were so warm and welcoming. I know they have my back at all times. I always felt comfortable coming to the office. Any time I called in with a question, I got very speedy helpful answers.February 25, 2025
At BIDMC, the doctors, nurses, technicians, and all the staff have been instrumental in my breast cancer journey and recovery. I came to seek medical care for breast cancer and surgery and from the moment I arrived I felt as if I was reassured, and embraced as if I was with caring family, always warm, caring, and compassionate. It has been a team effort and everyone here treats me personally and cares for me, and has answered all my concerns and questions. Dr Lin and staff are incredible and so easy to work with! My only regret is not having my deviated septum surgery done years ago. Not sure if it was pure luck but I had zero pain post op and the recovery process was so easy, even having the splints in for 9 days wasn't nearly as bad as I anticipated. I highly encourage anyone looking to have this done to schedule an appt with Dr Lin - it is SO worth it!! You won't regret it once you can breathe better!!February 04, 2025

When other doctors turned me away, Dr. Lin was willing to help. During the pandemic, I developed difficulty breathing. It turned out to be serious, requiring septoplasty and turbinate reduction. After years of problematic symptoms, I was so lucky to find Dr. Lin's office, where his caring and supportive assistants helped me through what to many might be a scary process. I can say that the impact has been immeasurable. My breathing has dramatically improved and my quality of life, cognition, and daily functioning is back in a way I had forgotten was possible. Dr Lin's assistants were amazing and his whole office provided such a pleasant experience. If you need help with this issue, do not delay in seeking out support from his office.
