Excellent course on fundamentals of plastic surgery. Highly recommend for anyone going into plastics or even general surgery (like myself). Well-balanced course between didactics, discussion, and procedure videos. By taking this course, you will learn a great deal to be able to apply in future practice. Dr. Lin is, without a doubt, the best in the field. Consider myself extremely lucky to learn from surgeon with a wealth of knowledge and experience.

Would highly recommend the course with Dr. Lin. I had an amazing opportunity to learn from a professor who is eager to teach and review any lingering questions. We covered many topics, here are are some I enjoyed the most: • Wound healing (burns, flaps, and grafts) • Aesthetic surgery • Craniofacial head and neck surgery • Breast surgical techniques and gender affirming surgery • Extremity injury, trauma, and reconstruction I am grateful for this experience and know that future students will benefit from Dr. Lin's dedication to mentoring and teaching.

This course with Dr.Lin was everything one can ask for. You learn so much in 4 weeks from all the readings and discussions during the course. The best part is the healthy learning environment that Dr.Lin provides has been the highlight of this course for me. He keeps checking up with you time to time if we are having any issues and is very warm and welcoming. I am so glad that I got this opportunity to learn from him.

Being an aspiring plastic and reconstructive surgeon, rotating virtually with Dr. Lin was an amazing experience. I had the chance to explore many areas in plastic surgery including wound healing, burn and face, craniofacial, head and neck, hand and lower extremity, and breast and gender-affirming surgery. Dr. Lin was always available to answer questions, share his experiences, and engage with us in clinical case-based group discussions. He is also a great mentor and supporter. I'm definitely more confident with my knowledge in plastic surgery now!

Considering This All Started with Breast Cancer... I'm Now So Pleased! 18 Aug 2021 8 months post I was stunned when I learned I had breast cancer but as I recently told Dr Lin, he was the silver lining in that experience. He performed a breast reduction simultaneously with my lumpectomy and 8 months out, I feel great. Post op was uncomfortable but definitely manageable and never painful. Recovery has gone smoothly and as expected, and now my shoulders and back no longer ache, clothes fit better, and I feel more in proportion. Dr Lin's calm and confident manner provided all the reassurance I needed, and he's supported by a great staff, Brett, his PA, and Stacy are wonderful. I feel very fortunate that my cancer was detected at an early stage and equally fortunate that I had such a wonderful medical team guide me and help me through this journey. I thank them all, and I especially thank Dr Lin.

I couldn't breathe through the left nostril for more than a decade. Even though I learned to live with it I always suspected that fixing my nose would improve my quality of life. Finally, in November 2020 I decided to have the first visit and have a professional look at my situation and see what could be done. I chose Dr. Lin because he came highly recommended by other patients, he is certified by two boards: plastic surgery and otorhinolaryngology and he actually specializes in noses. After preliminary visits I was able to meet him in March of 2021 and he recommended a procedure to fix my problem. As I understood it, it was a deviated septum that didn't leave a large enough opening at the base of the nostril for the air to pass through. As a fix, the septum would be straightened out, a graft would be done to keep the opening large enough and the "glands" that clean and moisten the air passing through the nostril would be reduced. In July 2021 I had the procedure. Everything was done internally, there were no stitches on the outside. The shape of the nose was not altered at all. Two plastic inserts had been put into the nose that kept the septum aligned. These inserts were held in place by an internal stitch. The nose was discharging for several days, it was blood mixed with other fluids. You have to tape gauze to your upper lip to keep the discharge from dripping down. Pain was non-existent. I didn't take any pain killers at all. There was some swelling like you got punched in the nose that went away after a few days. The worst part for me were the plastic inserts. They don't allow you to breathe through your nose and they don't allow you to smell anything. You have to breathe through your mouth when you sleep, when you talk, when you take a shower. It's a real challenge! Second on the list of miseries is the inability to sneeze or blow your nose. You can feel all kinds of things built up in your nose but you can't remove them. You can only moisten the nostrils by saline. If you sneeze, you have to open your mouth, so the sneeze goes through your throat and not your nose. And the last inconvenience is the inability to do exercise. You are not allowed to jog, can't do free weights, can't exercise in general. Also, can't fly or dive. After a week the plastic inserts got removed and it felt much better! I was able to feel scents again and was able to breathe through the nose. After a month I was cleared for exercise. By that time, the nose healed and I was able to breathe using both nostrils. It does make a huge difference! I can take full breaths, I can sleep on both sides, I can do other things I forgot were possible. I know this next part can't be true, but it feels like my brain is getting more oxygen with two nostrils breathing. In retrospect it was completely worth it. My only regret is that I walked around 10+ years with this condition and hadn't had it fixed sooner. Dr. Lin is a great specialist, I would recommend him to anyone. His staff is also attentive and well trained. Without exaggeration, this was a life changing experience for me!
